Jingwen Liu, Ph.D.
Dr. Jingwen Liu obtained training in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry during her graduate study at the University of Cincinnati (1989) and explored the field of cytokines in her postdoctoral training at Yale University (1990) and Bristol-Myers Squibb pharmaceutical company (1991). In 1992, Dr. Liu joined the US Federal Institution (The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center) in the State of Idaho as the Chief of Molecular Pharmacology Research Laboratory. In 1997, Dr. Liu relocated her laboratory to the VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS) and became a VAPAHCS and PAVIR Investigator. Since 1992, Dr. Liu has been directing a research program that seeks new therapeutic options to treat hyperlipidemia through molecular and cellular studies conducted in liver cells and in various innovative animal models.
