Advancing Veteran and public health through innovative research.
The Palo Alto Veterans Institute for Research (PAVIR) facilitates research and education activities conducted at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS). The range of research activities is broad and includes special emphasis on:
- Cardiovascular medicine
- Mental health – including Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Chronic inflammatory disease
- Stem cell/regenerative medicine
Genomic medicine is a major overarching interest in our pursuit of health improvements for Veterans. We believe that advances in genomics will make personalized medicine a reality.
